  12. We have an HP730 running HP-UX 8.07
  13. How can I fix this:

  15. I can telnet to another node on Ethernet - no problem.
  16. If I then pull the Ethernet plug (thin) out of the back of the HP730
  17. for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again, I can no
  18. longer telnet to anything.
  19. I get the message:

  21. telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: No route to host
  22.  
  23. which is a bit misleading cos the node I am telnetting to is
  24. on the same logical network and is the same node that was 
  25. working prior to pulling out the cable.  Anyway, netstat says 
  26. that all the routing information is correct and re-doing any 
  27. route statements (not that any are needed in this case) doesn't 
  28. fix the problem.
  29. I am trying telnet, but I get the impression that nearly all
  30. IP based services have stopped working in one way or another.

  32. Rebooting the system seems to be the only way to get it working
  33. again.

  35. Any other system would jump back into life when you put the plug
  36. back in.
