- Hi netters,
- recently I tried to install the new version 6.03 of tcsh on my HP 720,
- HP-UX 8.07, which I had got from ftp.csc.liv.ac.uk, the HP archive in
- Liverpool, who had only changed the following at the source
-
- > Imakefile - Change CDEBUGFLAGS to +O3 and changed BINDIR to /usr/remote/bin.
-
- > ed.screen.c - Allowed HP arrow key sequences to be parsed.
-
- > sh.c - Check for HP terminal and send cursor on sequence if it is.
-
- Everything looked fine until I tried to page back in a hpterm window
- with a scrollbar by means of the Prev-Key: Nothing happened (only a
- beep)!
- Scrolling back with the mouse did work, but scrolling forward with the
- Next-Key didn't work either, (but at least produced no beep); though both
- keys worked well in version 6.01, which I had used up to now!
- Trying bindkey with quoted-insert told me, that the Prev-Key produced a
- "^[V" and was an unbound extended key, while Next produced a "^[U" and
- was bound to upcase-word.
- O.k., I could look up that the binding of ^[U was in fact intended and a
- feature, but why does version 6.03 filter these keys (as well as the
- others in the neighbourhood like "Insert char" and "Delete line")
- instead of passing them on to the hpterm?
- Is there perhaps any connection of this behaviour to the setting of
- kshMode in my X resource file?
-
- Any help on would be greatly appreciated!
-
- Thanks in advance, Josef
