  13. I have some PCs and Macs which I would like to use to access
  14. an HP (running HP-UX).  I'm using some public domain/commercial
  15. telnet programs on the DOS/Windows and MacOS side.  However, I'm
  16. using host tables on each PC/Mac (and I'd prefer not to). 
  17.  
  18. I'd like to configure the HP as a Domain Name Server.  However, 
  19. I've never done this before.  Also, I'm confused with the Yellow
  20. Pages/NIS stuff in relation to DNS.  I think I *don't* want to
  21. use YP/NIS (at least for now) and *only* use DNS.

  23. Can anyone provide some pointers on how to do this?  I've FTP's
  24. the HP FAQ from pit-manager.mit.edu, howver It didn't help.  Also,
  25. I've read a number of man pages on this and I'm still confused.
