  27. X (used by Vue) relies heavily on hostname resolution. If the 
  28. hostname isn't resolved properly to an IP address and vice versa,
  29. your machine will give you no end of trouble.

  31. To set up the resolution properly, set up a file named "/etc/resolv.conf":

  41. Since the information isn't secret, make it world readable (don't know
  42. if it works when restricted, who cares). Set your hostname without
  43. domain (for my local desktop "emws1"). The machine should start working
  44. without problems immediatly, supposed it is listed in the official nameservers
  45. databases (if not, have your net admin perform thist task IMMEDIATLY).
