- I think you've been misled. HP sells two different computer series
- based upon the same chip technology (HP-PA), these being the HP
- 9000/8xx or 7xx (running HP-UX) and the HP 3000/9xx (running MPE/iX, a
- 32 bit implementation of MPE/V). However these are in fact two
- separate computer systems. As I understand it you can't run HP-UX on a
- HP3000/9xx or run MPE/iX on a HP9000/8xx, because of differences in
- the peripheral equipment (e.g. the terminal controllers).
