- I am trying to replace a 2400baud modem with a v.42 9600 and or a 14,400fax
- /data modem.
-
- The 2400modem works fine. I have tried to add some entries to gettydefs
- to support 9600, 19200, 38400, and 56700. These are the rs232 port baud
- rates supported by these newer modems. I see data flowing, but nothing that I
- can read.
-
- Maybe, I have to set the baud rate in the modem first? (the newer modems seem
- to lock the rs232 baud rate once awaken and ignore line speed)
-
- Has anyone successfully connected one of these things? If so, what does you
- gettydefs / inittab file look like, and did you program anything other than
-
- ats0=1 in your modem?
-
- I am using what I consider the standard off-the-shelf ready for your pc type
- of modems.
