- I am not sure about the "overwriting" bit you make reference to; that doesn't
- sound quite right. That aside:
- (1) You can adjust the palatte to be anything you want; in VUE 3.0 this
- is in /usr/vue/palettes, and there are a bunch of files in there
- with the palette settings brought up by the style guide when you
- do the "select colour" choice. Try editing the files, by hand, or
- through the snifty colour editor slider bars the "select colour"
- dialog box has in it.

- (2) You can run a tool called "xinitcolormap" and load up the first
- "n" cells of the colour map with what ever you like. These become
- "hard-locked" cells. Especially good for StarBase or RMB/UX X11
- users. "xinitcolormap" *must* be the first X11 client run after
- the server starts. Normally executed in /usr/vue/config/Xsession
- (/usr/lib/X11/vue/Vuelogin/Xsession for VUE 2.x).
