- I don't know if this is a FAQ, a bug that has been patched, or what, but
- I thought I would mention it for the sake of letting people know what I
- found.
-
- I was attatching a CD-ROM to our 425T Wednesday and found that SAM
- recognized that it was out there on the SCSI port waiting to be added as
- a filesystem, however when I selected CDROM-SCSI as the device and told
- it to go it complained about not being able to mount the device to the
- directory (/UPDATE_CDROM). After calling the response center we
- determined that SAM had created the device files with the wrong minor
- numbers.
-
- It created the major numbers OK, but the minor number which should have
- been 0x0e0300 came out as 0x030000. After manually creating the device
- files we were able to mount it and use update to load software.
