-
- There is an option to adjust the contrast (through a popup menu). It works
- well in bright light, but I find myself tilting the screen every once in a
- while to get the best picture. I wonder if its due to the large number of
- pixels (320x240) and the touch screen.
-
- >I've also heard that the 9600 has VT-100 emulation.
-
- Yes. It works fine with emacs, vi, elm, etc. I did notice that
- when using a high speed modem the 9600 was not really able to keep up
- with the modem. The screen is also 24x56 (I think its around 56) but
- it has a virtual screen and you can scroll around it.
-
- The keyboard layout is not really nice to Unix users. There is a "control"
- key (really M-), but a lot of the Unix like keys (~, >, <, etc) you have
- to hit the "SMBL" keep and selet them off a popup menu.
-
- It also has Xmodem and Ascii for uploading/downloading.
-
- I really wouldn't buy the 9600 for its terminal emulation though :-)
