- I'm having a problem with a DZQ11 interface on my home VAX II and would like
- to know if anyone has an idea about it...
-
- Config: VAXstation II in BA123 worldbox, KA630 CPU, 16MB memory
- DEQNA, ESDI disk controller, TK50, VCB01 graphics card, DZQ11
-
- Version: VAX/VMS 5.3
- DECwindows (haven't tried VWS)
-
- Problem: using a modem off any port on the DZQ, I get dropped characters (even
- if I ALLOCATE the port before connecting to it), and eventually the
- display halts -- I still get characters passed through the modem, and
- I can see TD and RD when I type commands, but nothing is displayed
- onscreen. Once this condition occurs it can only be cleared by a
- reboot. Each port exhibits this behaviour, and killing one port does
- NOT kill the others. SET TERM commands do nothing to clear the error.
- No errors appear on a SHOW ERROR command.
-
- Attempts:
- -tried SET TERM
- -occurs when using SET HOST/DTE or C-Kermit
- -tried reloading TTDRIVER (it's not unloadable)
- -tried ALLOCATing the port before using it. No effect.
- -occurs on both a Zoom v.42bis 9.6k brand-new modem and on an old DEC
- Scholar 2400 v.22bis.
- -checked CONFIGURE to make sure CSR and Vectors were okay (they are).
- -ran MDM DZQ11 test, passed...
-
- Status: Nearly out of hair
-
- Any insights would be appreciated, as would a bottle of Witch Hazel (or maybe
- some Monoxodil).
