- I have a 1541 DD that had the "sit and spin" problem. I am fairly sure that
- this is the only problem. I took the beast apart the other day, and noticed
- that the chips are socket in there. I recieved much email on the topic, and
- have determined that most likely my problem is the chip that has the part no
- 901229-05. I got this from someone that has had this problem with many drives,
- and I gather that he knows what he was doing. It seems as though the chip
- should just pop out, but I'm not sure how to do it. Is there a tool that I
- need. I can get another 1541 that has a different problem, and steal its
- chip, or if that doesn't work, find someplace that I can mail order. Can
- someone please help me? Thanks,
