  17. You didn't say, but it sounds like you have a C64.  You might be running
  18. into problems with the extra pin on the 1581 used for fast-serial
  19. transfer on a C128.  If you disconnect the center pin on the cable that
  20. leads to the 1581, it should work with a C64.
