  16.   a friend of mine suffers from problems with his 1040STf. This is one of the
  17. first series and still runs under TOS 1.0. He wants to hook up a HP Deskjet.
  18. But the output doesn't get through to it. If he hooks up a Star NL-10 (the
  19. trad. Epson FX lookalike) (and loads the correct driver) everything works just
  20. fine. This goes for printing from the desktop, from 1st word, gulam, Calamus
  21. and TeX.

  23. Is this a known problem and/or is there an easy solution?
