  12. I'm a 1040stfm owner with an external floppy and SM124 monitor.
  13. Up until the Falcon was announced I'd been considering getting a 4meg
  14. upgrade and a 105meg hard disk.
  15. I *would* use MiNT more if I had more memory and a hard disk. (In
  16. real life I use Unix systems). I'm now considering saving up for a Falcon
  17. and/or upgrading my current setup.

  19. I have some questions:

  21. Does the Falcon take Simms ? If yes I may get the XtraRam deluxe,
  22. then get a 1meg Falcon later on.
  23.  
  24. I can get a SCSI disk now and move that to the Falcon, so I could get
  25. a 1meg diskless Falcon and just plug it in, couldn't I?
  26. I know my external disk won't work. Will a SCSI floptical ?
  27.  
  28. I'd like a tape drive and maybe someday a cd-rom (PhotoCD compatible
  29. pref). If I get an ICD Link I can get just about any SCSI device,
  30. right? And they'll work with my wife's LCII too ?

  32. Does (will) MultiTos (I won't buy a Falcon till it comes with MultiTos)
  33. support the AppleTalk LAN connector ? Or would I need a 3rd party
  34. APPLESHARE.XFS ?

  36. How about ISO9660.XFS for CD-roms?
  37. I've heard rumours that the Falcon will be CD-I compatible; compatible
  38. enough for me to pick up CD-I stuff from a department store and run it
  39. at home ? Or just enough to read the disks ?
  40. Proper support for Minix-type filesystems (ie backups and fileselector)?

  42. Does the Falcon's SCSI-2 support `fast SCSI-2' ?
  43. Can I mix'n'match SCSI and SCSI-2 devices with no speed penalty.
  44. I think to use `fast SCSI-2', all devices must be `fast' (synchronous ?)
