- Bob, If you *believe* that, then you haven't ever opened one of the
- silly things up. If you don't believe it, then you're falsifying
- information to try and win an argument, which seems to put you in the
- position of the pot calling the kettle black with regards to several
- other arguments you're involved in.
-
- You CANNOT put the motherboard from a Northgate Slimline SL in the
- case of an IBM XT. The mounting points are not the same, the slot
- positions are not the same. In fact, very little is the same. You
- cannot put that motherboard in a full size AT case for the same
- reason. You cannot put it in a tower case for the same reason.
-
- If you have done it, please send me pictures, and I will publicly
- apologize for making a false claim.
-
- Heck, do you actually believe that you could, say, slap any old
- motherboard in the case of one of Zenith's new Z machines? They're
- non-standard as all get-out. Do you really think that you can just
- throw darts at a Computer Shopper to pick components and then assemble
- those components into a working computer, EVERY TIME?
-
- I understand some use of "poetic" license to make a point (about the
- relative standardization of PC motherboard designs), but it seems
- hypocritical for you to criticize people for making blanket statements
- that aren't true and then do it yourself.
