- HELP!
- I'm still having problems with the FPE card..anybody out there who
- knows how THIS works?
-
- THE PROBLEM: when evaluating a formula, the FPE routines - a bunch of
- macros (provided by the manufacturer) - work fine FOR SOME TIME.
- Suddenly, let's say after 500 calls (sometimes immediately, sometimes
- not at all...funny, eh?) the FPE gives up and returns always the same
- number (a random number..sigh!).
-
- NOW: the program is not responsible for this problem: when the FPE code
- is turned off and SANE is called, everything works fine again.
-
- I suspect that the FPE is a bit confused from time to time. I noticed
- that resetting the card _helps_, but the manual does not say how a
- program can detect such a situation. It only says: "..if the FPE
- returns $0D1D in the response register, then the attempted operation
- was invalid." HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? The manual clearly states in
- another paragraph that you should never test for anything other than
- $8900.. ("WARNING: don't...")
-
- PLEEEASE could someone enlighten me?
-
- Merci beaucoup,
-
- henrik
