- For those of you wondering what the difference between HardPressed and
- AutoArk is...
-
- I recently booted a copy of System 6.0 with HardPressed installed. Big
- deal. Well, the trick is that it was on a write-protected 800K floppy, and
- even after installing all of the HardPressed files, it had more space on it
- than it did before compressing stuff.
-
- The best part is, it only took a few seconds longer to boot.
-
- In case you want to nit-pick, it was a single 800K floppy all by its
- lonesome; no other volumes were involved in the process. I stuck it into the
- disk drive and booted all the way into the Finder. And yes, it really
- was write protected. I have witnesses. :-)
-
-
- I don't want to give out any specific numbers, because it's still in the
- "almost done" stage, and they will likely change. I don't really want to
- give out a release date either, for a variety of good reasons. "Soon."
