- Greetings!
-
- I'm trying yet again to spark some life/use into my II+. I'm trying to get
- both binscii.exe and app381 (kermit) downloaded so as to autonomously grab
- files for the Apple. Here's how far I've come:
-
- I null-modemed my PC to the Apple SSC, IN#1'd, and now what I type on the PC
- keyboard affects the Apple. I have a program called 'Apple Aids', one of the
- modules being an exec file creator. Running this module, I get a '!' prompt
- for data until I type 'quit'. What I excitedly thought would work would be to
- set everything up as described, run this creator, and then upload the file in
- ASCII mode. The net effect (in theory) would be as if I typed it all in from
- the Apple keyboard.
-
- To put it bluntly, it didn't work. The most noticable things were 1, newlines
- were ignored and 2, lowercase characters were translated as garbage.
-
- I have another program called 'Data Capture 4.0'. However, after the program
- loads, a constant stream of random characters ensues. I've used this program
- in the past, but with a Hayes Micromodem II. Is it that specific, or should/
- would it recognize the SSC? If so, how?
-
- Any and all help/insight would be greatly appreciated!
-
- Thanks,
- Derrick
