  14. I am stripping down a DN4000 that I traded in to Sun.  I moved
  15. 16MB of memory to a needy DN5500, and now I'm trying to move
  16. the QIC tape.  The DN4000 has a special adapter cable in line
  17. with the normal power supply cable which appears to change the
  18. pin order.  I've tried leaving it in and taking it out on the
  19. 5500, but the 5500 still claims "no tape controller in the system".
  20. (Yes, I did run CONFIG.)

  22. For reference, a DN4500 with a tape drive that I also have doesn't
  23. use the adapter cable.

  25. What is even more strange is that the drive whirrs when I insert a 
  26. tape, so it is in fact getting power.
