- I could careless what anyone on here thinks. I would never use the
- OS graphics.library to do stuff within the domain of my code. I believe
- in Partial takeover, not total. My code is relocatable, and I believe
- in using some stuff from AMIGADOS. However I would never resort to
- absolute, non-relocatable code or total OS code.
-
- My only interest is coding DEMOS for now, and learning some advance
- stuff. After awhile I want to get into game coding. I really hope there
- is info for the Amiga 1200 on how the new custip chip registers work..etc
-
- I wish a revised Mapping the Amiga was done, or something like that.
-
- But my demos will probably in the future only support 1 meg systems,
- and they must have PAL. If not TOUGH LUCK! Okay I live in North America,
- but you cannot tell me that NTSC is great. Its only good if you need
- speed and the display isn't that great. I find PAL to be sharper, and
- despite the minute speed difference, I think its great. I always use
- PAL, I rarely use NTSC.
-
- I sort of wish every one had atleast 1.5 megs of ram. 1 meg chip and
- 1/2 meg fast ram. I usually write my code in sections, and always default
- to PUBLIC memory. Since the arrival of the A600, it has 1 meg CHIP,
- and can probably support PAL. Since it has the new Agnus. Even the
- semi-old agnus.. FATTER AGNUS.. 1meg CHIP one, it can handle PAL. And
- lots of people have it by now, if not tough luck! heh..
-
- I agree with what you said, and we have the right to write whatever
- we want. As long as we keep to afew guidelines. However no one can
- force me to write my demos with the OS. Demos multitasking along with
- the OS. How stupid!! or even games for that matter. Why would I want
- to multitask when I'm playing a high action game that uses much of
- the computer resources.. not only ^^^ but anything that demands total
- power for the task.
-
- I would NEVER EVER buy a game written in "C", ASSEMBLY is the way.
- Atleast on a Mc68000 based one. Things may not matter with the 32-bit Amiga
- Generation, but its does with these lowly 16-bit Amiga's.
-
- Remember on the C64, there was no choice. Assembly was thee only way!
- You need total power from the computer, to make a high quality game!
-
- Anyhow enough said... later you all!
