  18. You're completely wrong, I read here the exact opposite: HW coders saying
  19. that *everything* in the OS is slow and bad, and Chris Green and other
  20. OS advocates who say in every second sentence that there indeed *exist*
  21. *legal* ways to access the HW directly! Yes, it's possible and legal!
  22. E.g. you can do everything with the Blitter, *IF* you use that OwnBlitter()
  23. protocol.

  28. Yes, this is the bad situation. BUT: This is already so since a lot of
  29. years, long before AA, in years where all programmers *had* a HRM!
  30. But obviously those people can't read such manuals correctly, *many*
  31. of the demos crash on different Amigas, because those dare to have
  32. more memory/floppies/ECS/etc. etc.

  34. So my conclusion is: The coder scene has proven that they also can't
  35. write portable programs when they *have* the information. Why then
  36. give them any???
