- You think so? My ancient Telebit Trailblazer-plus (not even a T2500) can get
- up to 18,000 bps, and falls back in 100 bps increments. I've had it get over
- 9,600 bps on an international phone line with audible static *and* a whistle.
- There are places I've never been able to get better than a 300 baud connect
- without a Trailblazer... for your adverse phone connections there is nothing
- better.
-
- The Worldblazers at work can get 22,000 baud with another Worldblazer, 18,000
- with a Trailblazer, and still have room for 14,400 for wimpy little V.32+++
- modems. All of this *before* compression, and it supports a number of schemes
- including V.42, plus UUCP, Xmodem, and Kermit spoofing.
-
- And the support from Telebit is exceptional. They recently sent us new PROMS
- for all our TB+ modems, no charge.
-
- The downside? A Worldblazer lists for the vicinty of $1000...
