  13.     A few months ago, I reported some trouble here with The Fred Fish
  14. Collection CDROM version 1.5 by Hypermedia Concepts.  My filesystem software
  15. could not read the directory

  20. The problem has now been diagnosed.  Apparently, Hypermedia used a
  21. beta version of the CDROM mastering software which had a bug in
  22. handling international characters (the "C" in "FRANCAIS").  The name
  23. was stored normally in the directory file, but as "FRAN^AIS" in the
  24. PathTAble, and as "FRANGAIS.INFO" in the icon.  Bizarre!
  25.  
  26.     I assume that the problem will be fixed in a later version of
  27. the disc, since Hypermedia updates it 3 times per year.
