- Well the thing is, Commodore have already anounced plans that at some
- anonymous time in the future they are going to add a DSP and maybe even a
- HD drive to the 1200, but as the original ones didn't have them it means that
- software won't be able to take advantage of them - As they must have plans
- for a price increase at the time of release, it would have made sense to
- just make the machine even better, cut out future software probs, cut out
- criticism and have the entire Amiga community swooning over a knock-dead
- machine at a reasonable price.
- Commodore has got serious competition these days, certainly us amiga
- owners know how good the machines are and will stick to them, but if the
- user base is to continue to grow then commodore need to do something
- astounding and at a reasonable price - When the Amiga was first released
- it was the best thing out, now the 1200 has the spec (as far as immediately
- obvious things like number of colours, memory, speed etc.) of a not
- particularly souped up PC - sad but true.
- I want to see the Amiga survive, but it needs to re-assert its
- position as market leader, not PC follower.
