- Perhaps. In magazines that have a genuine interest in honest reporting, it
- usually DOES work. A _good_ example would be Consumer Reports; this magazine
- will print, verbatim, letters from 'slighted' manufacturers in many cases, or
- at least print a correction. OK, not as good as getting the spotlight in
- the showcase issue, but what is, eh?

-
- Only really big flaw I find in this is IF there are Amiga owners out there
- hot enough to drop thier sub over this issue, I think they would already have
- seen this issue and decided on thier own what to do. Those of us who do NOT
- subscribe (or even read) said magazine will carry significantly less wieght,
- I would think.
-
- This all very neatly ducks the issue, though: Commodore is RE-active rather
- than PRO-active in thier handling of things like this. When it becomes time
- for damage control, the PR folks have already failed.
-
- I'd feel very differently about this IF New Media had covered the Amiga and
- flubbed it -- but that's not the case.
