-
- At the Pasadena World of Commodore show, Lou Eggebrecht (VP of
- Engineering at Commodore) gave a talk in which he described the plans
- for two new chip sets. I reported on this in comp.sys.amiga.announce.
- You can get the report from the group's ftp archive. Consult the
- introductory postings on the group for more details.
-
- The reporter for last week's Toronto WOC show has also written up a
- talk from Lou, and will post the report to the group shortly. This
- one is a bit more concise.
-

- >the crappy[well outdated at least] sound processor ?
-
- The upcoming report mentions that DSP technology is in the works, but
- will be available no sooner than the middle of the year. This would
- give sound on the level of a CD player.

-
- I'm not sure what you're asking. If you want to read e-mail from
- home, you should get a modem, plug it into your Amiga, and dial up the
- University's computer. You might be able to save some money on long
- distance calls by using a service called "PC Pursuit." Go ask in
- comp.sys.amiga.datacomm, comp.dcom.modems, and comp.dcom.telecom for
- more information about all of this.
-
- A decent modem can be had for $70 (I'll sell you mine!), and the
- communications software is free (and even legal) if you know where to
- look.
-
- If you're ambitious, your Amiga can be set up as an e-mail site, using
- something called UUCP. Go look in alt.sys.amiga.uucp for more
- information about that.
-
- Finally, you should restrict your posts to one topic. If you have two
- topics, post twice. Of course, by answering you, I've violated this
- guideline myself....
