- Rob,
- Thanks for an exhaustive review of your attempts. I have an ICD Advantage (the
- full-card predecessor to the AdSCSI) and I can autoboot just fine! I have a
- couple of questions on your other stuff:
-
- You mention that you use Hurricaneconfig without -r, so it does load up the
- 256K of ROM. But then you mention that you use Addmem32. Are you saying that
- you are using Hurricaneconfig -a to avoid loading the memory at first? It
- wasn't clear. I use -a -r as I previously mentioned. I might consider losing
- 256K of memory to get that last 10-20% of performance back with the data
- caches, if that works for me.....
-
- You also asked about booting in 2000 mode. It isn't a bootup selection like
- onthe Commodore card. There is a jumper on the board that disables the
- Hurricane card so that the machine uses the 68000. I have mine hooked up to a
- switch on the back panel. It necessitates a power-down, but erases the board
- and memory from the system. Still useful for some games that I haven't been
- able to get running in 68030 mode. Let's see, do I have docs that show which
- jumper?....no, not in the manual I have. I'll have to look. Message me back
- to remind me about this one, as I'm planning to open the machine to look for a
- jumper that will supposedly allow me to go from 4 megs to 16 megs by installing
- the larger chips. (one source tells me no, you need a PAL change, the other
- tells me it's only a jumper, so I'm gonna look).
