- Flicker is largely a matter of opinion, which is probably based on what
- you're used to. Every monitor flickers, but not everyone can see the
- flicker. Certainly by the time you're up at 72Hz or so, few people have
- fast enough eyes to complain. When I go to Europe, I wonder how anyone
- can watch PAL TV on a regular basis, but millions do. Some people didn't
- have a big problem with interlaced NTSC on the Amiga, more can stand 72Hz
- interlace (SUPER72). I used an 80-something-Hz interlaced 1024x1024
- workstation monitor for years without even realizing it was interlaced (much
- like the typical 1280x1024 available on these TSENG VGA cards), but the
- monitor was fairly high persistance. Ultimately, it's what you can live with.
- Some few probably will have a problem with ~60Hz non-interlaced, like DblNTSC
- (make sure you have "Avoid Flicker" checked before deciding you're a member
- of that set).

- It's like sitting. Most folks find sitting cross-legged comfortable, but
- would get sore pretty quickly sitting seiza or lotus style. Yet if you
- happed to grow up in Japan or India, you might be perfectly comfortable
- sitting one of those ways, because you did it for years growing up. That's
- my best guess about the acceptability of PAL TV.
