- This is exactly what I experienced. I have installed a JVC 40 Meg drive.
- There was no problem in formatting it with FFS. The problem was that it
- was not possible to boot. The drive got stuck with the activity LED turned
- on. It was however possible to boot from floppy and then to open windows
- on the hard drive. Any attempt to click an icon resulted in a hang-up of the
- hard drive.
- It was possible to format with OFS. In this configuration it works, but it
- is slooooooooow. Diskspeed 4.2 reported 134 kByte/s. I called a dealer and
- he said that they did not had problems with a Seagate 80Meg drive.
- In addition, I have tried REOrg 3.2. After some time the hard drive got
- stuck: activity led turned on, nothing happening.
- The dealer suspected that C='s IDE implementation might be not exactly
- follow the specs.
