  19. But it is not.  A floptical writes and reads about twice as fast as
  20. a normal Amiga floppy drive which is _much_ slower than any modern
  21. hard disk.  The access time only tells how long it takes for the
  22. drive to move the R/W head to the specified track and locate the
  23. data block.  It says nothing about read/write speeds at all.

  25. After using a decent hard disk the flopticals feel as slow as floppies.
  26. When the floptical disks become badly fragmented they can be even slower
  27. due to the higher amount of data stored on them.

  29. I'm not saying the flopticals are useless.  They are nice, but they
  30. are not as fast as hard disk, not even close.
