- That sounds like a pretty bogus explanation. I have seen a very similar thing
- on certain screens on my ECS equipped A1000 using my original 1080 monitor.
- (Even on a regular workbench screen!) The fact that it happens every eight
- pixels points to some sort of problem in the digital realm. Since I am not
- getting memory corruption I am guessing that it has something to do with some
- timing problem in the display chips themselves, but I don't know enough about
- the data path to guess where the error is.
-
- When I first got my Rejuvinator it died quickly due to a sick Agnus. Moving
- graphics would leave pixels all over the screen. Since I got a new Agnus
- things have been great except for the above problem, which does not show up
- very often. If I go to Superhires mode, however, the leftmost column of pixels
- always shows this shimmering behavior.
-
- If the AGA machines you saw showed this behavior consistently it is probably
- due to early versions of the chips in the demo machines. I did not see similar
- behavior on the A4000's I saw at WOC in Pasadena.
