- I've owned both of these mice over the last two years. The Boing! (which was the
- second and one that I currently use) is by far the better choice, albeit more
- expensive.
-
- The Golden Image optical was *very* jerky under acceleration. It could not keep
- up with my movement of the mouse on productivity or super-hires screens. This
- was the main thing that turned me off this mouse over time. Then there is
- a quality issue. The Golden Image cord developed a fault causing vertical
- movement problems within about 8 months of use, and the mouse certainly was not
- pressed against anything that should cause this to occur..
-
- To be fair though, the Boing! mouse I first received had to go straight
- back with a similar fault (although it was the circuitry, not the cord), but
- that can be (probably) attributed to poor treatment on its way from USA to
- Australia. Other than that, the mouse has been operating for about 8-9
- months without a hitch, works great under acceleration, feels really good
- (responsiveness and handling). The 3 buttons are a bonus too, with my
- middle one currently enchancing my window sizing/movement capabilities.
- FInally, the Boing! had a much longer cord than the GI (important for a left
- hander with a A500....).
-
- >Disclaimer: No I don't work for GfxBase, I'm just a BOING!-mouse fan.
-
- Nor do I, and so am I (respectively) :-)
-
- regards,
- Darren.
