- I just got back from the World of Commodore in Toronto, and I was
- disappointed at the AGA machines (A4000, A1200). Although the capabilities
- of AGA sound good, the actual video quality was somewhat lacking.
-
- On all of the AGA machines, a fine pattern of vertical lines could
- be seen on the screen. The lines were 8 pixels apart. On one machine,
- the whole screen shimmered - it was like someone was continuously
- tweaking the vertical size control!
-
- I asked a Commodore representative about these problems and he said
- it was due to the interaction between the computer and monitor and that
- the monitor was to blame. I have seen this effect on three different
- brands of monitors (including the 1960) and the monitors in question
- work fine with ECS machines, so this explanation doesn't hold water.
-
- Have any AGA users out there noticed the same thing? Commodore, what
- will you do about it?
