  36. I don't have any real insights but I can share my experience with also
  37. having 2 bad power supplies on an A3000. My A3000, within 24 hours of
  38. delivery, would every now and then have its power light dim, its fan
  39. wind down, and would then reboot. Sometimes it would take several tries
  40. to boot and sometimes I'd have to shut it down and wait a while, then
  41. try again to get it up. A call to Gold Service got me a new power supply
  42. installed and that one also failed within two weeks, the initial symptom
  43. being frequent read errors from during HD access. Another call to Gold
  44. Service brought me another supply and that one hase functioned without
  45. problem for about a year and a half to two years now.

  47. So, it seemed to me that C= gets an unusual number of marginal supplies.
  48. I don't know why SCSI access should place a load on the power supply, it
  49. doesn't make sense to me, but that is where my machine would most often
  50. fail, even if the access was to an external device (a Syquest) with its
  51. own power.
