  21. I tried using REND24 V1.05 last night and was very disappointed.
  22. it created a 256 color anim that was 15 meg in size with an average delta
  23. of 255k (for 60 frames!) so I went back and tried to make a HAM8 anim
  24. and it mucked the colors all up.  Then I tried to convert each picture
  25. to HAM8 (thinking it was trashing the colors while building the anim)
  26. same thing happened.  if I converted each frame one at a time it worked. 
  27. (quite a difference in file size I might add! over 200K for 256 color and
  28. around 70K for HAM8) 
  29. Anyway, now I thought I could load in the ham8 images and let it build the
  30. animation from those.  GURU, the whole program crashed after loading the
  31. first HAM8 image. 
  32. Tonight I will try with different size pictures. (the above occured with
  33. max overscan (736x482).  The scanty docs suggest that REND24 doesn't
  34. like some sizes.

  36. Anyone know what the "count" information is? This is displayed in the 
  37. small REND24 window. I assume it has something to do with color but I
  38. don't get what it's telling me?
  39. sigh, I was hoping to FINALLY get some tests run on the speed of HAM8 
  40. and 256 color anims.  
  41. I did find that ViewTek is many MANY times faster than View3.2 at showing
  42. anims. (at least under Workbench 3.0) I guess ViewTek is using the new
  43. 3.0 features for display??
