- I tried using REND24 V1.05 last night and was very disappointed.
- it created a 256 color anim that was 15 meg in size with an average delta
- of 255k (for 60 frames!) so I went back and tried to make a HAM8 anim
- and it mucked the colors all up. Then I tried to convert each picture
- to HAM8 (thinking it was trashing the colors while building the anim)
- same thing happened. if I converted each frame one at a time it worked.
- (quite a difference in file size I might add! over 200K for 256 color and
- around 70K for HAM8)
- Anyway, now I thought I could load in the ham8 images and let it build the
- animation from those. GURU, the whole program crashed after loading the
- first HAM8 image.
- Tonight I will try with different size pictures. (the above occured with
- max overscan (736x482). The scanty docs suggest that REND24 doesn't
- like some sizes.
-
- Anyone know what the "count" information is? This is displayed in the
- small REND24 window. I assume it has something to do with color but I
- don't get what it's telling me?
- sigh, I was hoping to FINALLY get some tests run on the speed of HAM8
- and 256 color anims.
- I did find that ViewTek is many MANY times faster than View3.2 at showing
- anims. (at least under Workbench 3.0) I guess ViewTek is using the new
- 3.0 features for display??
