  13. I've got a few questions that maybe someone could help me out with.

  15. I run an Amiga 2000 w/1M graphics memory and 0M other memory.  After workbench
  16. I can barely run Term 2.4.  That is, I can run it if I go directly into 
  17. the settings menu and drop the buffer size to it's minimum.  Even then, some
  18. things don't work.  (Actually I think it's mostly phone boot and zmodem 
  19. transfers that don't work- to be more specific, the phone book works execept
  20. it does not remember the date, the zmodem appears to start but then says it
  21. can't find the file.  Now that I think of it, I belive that happens with 
  22. Ymodem batch too)  I belive this is because there is not enough memory 
  23. but I'm not sure.  I think there is typically about 20K left after term runs.

  25. So, my first question is, can anyone identify the problem above, and if they
  26. can is there a work around?  Anyone running Term on a similar configuration?
  27. Is Term 2.4a or 2.5 smaller or more efficient?  I really like Term and would
  28. like to use it, but have not been able to get it working well on my machine.

  30. Question 2:  What is the ftp site where Olaf puts the Term releases?

  32. Question 3:  I've been looking at other term programs (other than term) and
  33. not found any I've liked quite as much as term.  I currently use Handshake
  34. 2.12.  I've heard there is a newer version.  Does it do Zmodem and if so,
  35. how well?  If so, where can it be found (ftp wise)?  Does it allow to override
  36. autobaud detection (ick).  My current version of handshake hangs the modem
  37. after it hangs up on the autodialer.  Ie, it tries to dial a number, gets a 
  38. busy, hangs up.  At this point the modem will not function at all until
  39. I quit handshake and re enter, where it will work again.  The modem is a
  40. microcom QX/4232hs with a locked com rate of 19.2k.

  42. Question 4:  Several years ago I say a pd or shareware terminal program that
  43. looked very snazzy, and functioned much differently that any others i've seen.
  44. It basically multitasked all it's functions.  If you started a down load,
  45. you could still change other settings, etc.  Does anyone know what this 
  46. program was and what it's status is today?  Maybe where I can get a copy?
  47. It was set up for BBS mostly the color graphics types and did not do VT
  48. type emulation.

  50. Maybe someone would be willing to put together a list of terminal progs avail
  51. for the amiga and a quick and dirty description of it and where it was avail
  52. from?  Sounds like a handy thing for a FAQ posting...
