- I just upgraded my GPFAX software with the last patch released for Supra
- Modems. I have the new ROM in my MODEM that supports silent answer and this
- patch adds support for this feature. However, I have not been able to get
- silent answer to work, or to say the least, it is not doing what I thought
- it's supposed to do.
-
- What I'd like the MODEM to do (and this is what I thought silent answer was
- about) is answer a call without making the phone ring if such a call is a fax
- call. On the other hand, if it is a voice call I want the phone to ring
- normally and the MODEM do nothing, so I can pick it up and talk to the caller.
-
- My questions are:
-
- - Is this what silent answer is supposed to do?
- - If I am off track, what in this world is silent answer?
- - If I am on the right track, how can I get it to work?
- - Why is the sky blue? :-)
-
- As usual, so many questions... so little answers.
