  32. Actually, the hearing range goes up to about 20KHz, but that isn't too 
  33. important. =)

  35. I have the Aegis SoundMaster and I have gotten it to sample up to 56KHz, 
  36. which, I must say, is very sweet but also a memory hog.  CD quality 
  37. samples are around 45KHz, so the SoundMaster (provided all your 
  38. connections are clean, gold plated, etc.) can easily reproduce the 
  39. quality of CD sound.  Aegis says that the SoundMaster is actually capable 
  40. of much higher sampling rates (above 100) but that a faster 
  41. microprocessor is required to attain those rates.  I have no idea on that 
  42. one as I still have my old 7.14 plugged in.  So, the best an 8-bit 
  43. sampler can do is just above CD-quality.
