-
- It will be C++ 3.0, but without templates.
-
- The amount of debugger support right now depends on how much
- we can get done how quickly 8^) Probably in the initial release
- we will have only source lines and the ability to set breakpoints
- on functions (no class browsers, etc.) but we will be addressing
- that after the initial release. We are aiming for third quarter
- 1993, subject to veto by the technical writing staff.
-
- By the way, we will need some new C++ beta testers. If anyone
- out there is interested, send mail to ts4sasca@unx.sas.com
- so stating. Khristi Tomlinson of our tech support department
- will respond with a survey that you need to fill out, listing
- your hardware, the type of programs you normally work with,
- and your experience level with C++. We need a wide variety of
- hardware and experience levels.
-
- If accepted into the program, you will be required to sign a
- nondisclosure agreement which prohibits you from distributing
- the beta software, using the beta software to compile programs
- that will be distributed, or even telling other non-beta-testers
- that you are testing it. (If you don't think you can live with
- the above restrictions, ESPECIALLY THE ONE ABOUT NOT GIVING
- THE SOFTWARE TO ANYONE, please don't bother applying. Our legal
- division will take violations of the agreement very seriously.)
-
- Preference is given to testers who have access to BIX since that's
- the easiest way for us to distribute changes, but we do have some
- (especially in Europe) who aren't on BIX.
