-
- Guess what? Version 4.0, copyright 1989 ALSO works on 2.04! That's my
- version that I was having so much trouble with...someone was pulling you
- leg.
-
- I apparently had a bad copy of the software. I managed to connect with
- someone who had the EXACT SAME VERSION as I did that was WORKING under 2.04!
- On a hunch, this person sent me one file that was thought to be causing my
- problem. (We wanted to rule out the 8520 chip problem). And sure enough!
-
- IT WORKED!!!!!
-
- I knew as soon as I saw it load slightly differently (i.e. I was no longer
- getting a BLACK screen while it loaded) that it looked promising! I had
- my doubts though when I first saw that it was *exactly the same size* file
- that I already had...
-
- Anyway, no copyrights were violated - I still have the original version
- that I purchased - only now it WORKS! Corrupted file fixed...
-
- YIPPPPEEE!!!!!
-
- Now, if only I could view something interactively while focusing the darn
- thing on my postage stamps... :> (I know, I know, buy an upgrade...:>)
-
- Oh, and before someone asks - since everything in my DV system was working,
- except the digitizing, I ASSUMED that the problem with no picture was due
- to not having enough light...and it was a couple of months before I got
- around to remembering to buy an extension cord to plug the lights into...
- I know, dumb assumption...but, hey, I didn't know what to expect - I have
- no one to tell me these things...which is why, half the time, I'm not even
- sure WHAT question to even ask! *sigh* I'll get there...I'm trying! :>
