- Provided you have 2.04 installed, you need an upgrade to make Digiview
- compatible with your OS of course. One of the few succesful interactions
- I have EVER been able to make with NewTek (out of MANY I have tried),
- is to get them to cash my check and send me that upgrade.
-
- I will now assume you have the correct version of DigiView software for your
- OS.
-
- Several of us are now seeing the same problem as you. The most common
- deduction that we have heard is that we are seeing a fault in the 8520 chips
- (there are two in your Amiga). Last night I went and bought one just in case.
-
-
- I noticed that when I my printer turned on, several problems occurred.
- 1. My CPS display on Baud Bandit didn't work when I was downloading.
- 2. The little clock in your Workbench/Utilities drawer would actually STOP
- and then would begin working again when I turned the printer off.
-
- The other people I know who are seeing DigiView problems do NOT see these
- parallel port oddities, but their Amigas are all the same vintage as mine.
- Since the 8520 chips are a known troublespot... and since I am seeing
- this little quirk....I went and bought one. *You* can find out if this is
- your problem by merely opening your Amiga and swapping the two around to
- see if it fixes the condition. Then you have at least found the trouble.
- Otherwise, take the Digiview and floppy to an Amiga-Friendly buddy...
- and try it on THEIR machine.
-
- Lastly, you can drop me a line and find out if the new 8520 solved MY
- problem. This will be the easiest solution of all. :-)
-
-
- Good Luck.
