- Why should Acorn dealers be &%$$ed off? From what I've heard, some dealers
- have made more sales because people wanted to buy Acorn machines after
- seeing the advert on TV... The advertising campaign by Noel Leeming is
- helping by making the public *aware* of the *existance* of Acorn computers,
- and this in itself is a good thing for Acorn, Dealers, and users alike.
-
- The dealers will also benefit from the much larger market base to which they
- can sell software. I think that most people buying a 3000/4000 are likely to
- discover local 'specialty' shops where they can get a better range and more
- knowlegable salespersons to purchase from than a high-street store can hope
- to supply...
-
- As to sales, I hear that Acorn are selling something like 50 machines a week
- at the moment, which is somewhat better than 1 machine a MONTH that I
- heard rumored near the beginning of the year... These facts and figures
- are not facts and figures, just hearsay...
