  21. I don't know if it is different in different countries, but at least
  22. in Denmark the rule is that the week with the first Thursday is week
  23. 1. If the 1st of January is Friday through Sunday, this is in week 52
  24. or 53. In 1993 it is week 53, in 1994 it will be week 52.

  26. Some printers of calenders in Denmark made the mistake of printing
  27. large quantities of calenders with Jan. 1st being in week one. They
  28. had to recall these. and sell them with warning labels at much reduced
  29. prices. Such an error may have caused the discrepancy between the
  30. diaries you have seen.
