- Imagine a program (NFS-style client or otherwise) that can make FTP
- sites visible in the file system. With such a program running, you
- could do things like
-
- cp /ftpfs/ftp.uu.net/file .
-
- to obtain a file instead of using the FTP command.
-
- Is there such a program? If so, please tell me what it is and where
- to find it.
-
- I know about the Andrew File system; the problem is that (I think) you
- can only talk to other AFS machines. What I'm thinking about would let
- you get files from any ol' anonymous FTP site via the file system.
