  13. Imagine a program (NFS-style client or otherwise) that can make FTP
  14. sites visible in the file system.  With such a program running, you
  15. could do things like

  17.     cp /ftpfs/ftp.uu.net/file .

  19. to obtain a file instead of using the FTP command.

  21. Is there such a program?  If so, please tell me what it is and where
  22. to find it.

  24. I know about the Andrew File system; the problem is that (I think) you
  25. can only talk to other AFS machines.  What I'm thinking about would let
  26. you get files from any ol' anonymous FTP site via the file system.
