  16. I would like to hear from someone working in a mixed vms/unix environment; 
  17. I am researching available options in configuration management/version 
  18. control across those O/S's.

  20. I have used or examined some of the available products on either/both O/S 
  21. (RCS, DEC's CMS, Atria's ClearCase, TeamOne's TeamNet, Aide-de-Camp).

  23. We are currently using a hodge-podge of tools, with extensive, 
  24. under-designed, baroque sets of executables/scripts/command files layered 
  25. on top of them.  Different projects have different O/S requirements; some 
  26. are vms only, some are mixed; some are unix only.  One of the largest 
  27. sources of pain for our developers is in those projects which span O/S.  
  28. Currently the archive for those developers is on the vax, and the developer 
  29. who needs to develop on a sun ends up going through a painful process to 
  30. properly lock and push his files to his work area.  Of course, since it's 
  31. painful almost everyone short-circuits this somehow.

  33. Interaction with the archive is currently a large source of complaints from 
  34. all groups;  I'd like to hear from someone who has solved this problem, 
  35. particularly in regard to the vms/unix barrier.
