- Hello,
- A friend of my is a programmer who uses Unisys' CTOS OS. He
- is interested in writing a security program that people can
- use to encrypt sensitive (but not classified) files.
-
- He would like to use DES encryption, but needs to get more
- information about it. Is the algorithm for DES in the public
- domain, or do you need a license to use it in a piece of
- software? Where can my friend obtain the actual specification
- for DES ? Is it available on the internet?
-
- thanks,
