- [bunch of my own stuff about writing a working RMS executive deleted ...
- I reread the last paragraph, and realized I was just _asking_ to get flamed.]

- MANY, MANY apologies if the above sentence is taken to be snide or
- condescending toward the original poster. That was definitely _not_ my
- intention. I may have been reacting in a defensive mode (how's that for pure
- governmentese?). :-] I have been hearing an awful lot lately about RMS being
- a nice "theory", but of little use in practice. Too often this is due to
- developers being unwilling/unable to understand the paradigm, and simply
- retreating to a cyclic executive because it is "safe".
-
- I will be the first to admit that RMS has problems. In the simulation world,
- data determinacy* is one of those problems. The point is that these problems
- _can_ be solved, but involve tradeoffs. No big surprise there. I also would
- be interested in what other types of problems y'all have had in implementing
- RMS. You can e-mail me at uhde@ollie.jsc.nasa.gov. If the responses warrant,
- I will post a compendium of RMS pitfalls.

-
- Thanks,
-
- DrJo --no fancy sig, but I should indicate that the usual disclaimers apply.
-
- * Don't bother to flame determinacy vs determinancy; both are correct usage.
- I prefer the sound of determinacy, or maybe I'm just too lazy to type the
- extra "n". ;-)
