- Most Ka9Q NOS packages for the PC include POP2/POP3 *servers*. For
- instance, Pa0GRI NOS 2.0m has both POP2 and POP3 servers. In most of the
- NOS packages, the implementation of POP2 is faulty and leaves POP2 clients
- hanging as it abruptly disconnects. In contrast, the implementation of POP3
- is robust, and works very well with both Mac and PC POP3 clients such as
- POPmail/PC, POPmail/MAC, Eudora, and NuPOP.
-
- I am using WG7J NOS 1.06 as this version of NOS is extremely stable, and
- performs well. It includes MX lookup for outgoing SMTP mail and has an
- internal POP3 server. It works with Crynwr packet drivers.
-
- This version of Ka9Q NOS (and others) is available from "ftp.ucsd.edu" in
- the directory /hamradio/packet/tcpip. I believe that a newer version 1.07
- is being released by the author today.
