  10. I'm still busy to get WfWG's networking in sync with my requirements.
  11. The following pictures represent my understanding of driver interactions
  12. (I put this here into that note, that you could please correct me, if I have
  13. missconceptions about what's going on).
  14.
  15. This is WfWG's regular setup using NetBeui:
  16. NDIS-driver --- MS_Netbeui ------ MS_WfWG
  17.
  18. (BTW: Is this Netbeui layer contained in protman.dos or in workgroup.sys ?)
  19.
  20. Although I've never been in touch with a Novell Network so far, configuring
  21. Novell support in addition I get a picture like this:
  22.
  23.               - Novell_to_NDIS -- Novell_App
  24.              /    (MSIPX)
  25. NDIS-driver /
  26.             \
  27.              \
  28.               - MS_Netbeui ------ MS_WfWG
  29.
  30. Again all stacks sit on top of the NDIS_driver. With some effort (didn't try
  31. it so far) I might even get several packet aware applications working over
  32. NDIS (using pkt_dis9.dos, pktmux.exe and pktdrv.exe):
  33.
  34.                                                 - Packet_Drv_1 -- Packet_App_1
  35.                                                /
  36.                                               /
  37.               - Packet_to_NDIS -- Packet_Mux ----   ....
  38.              /                                \
  39. NDIS-driver /                                  \
  40.             \                                   - Packet_Drv_N -- Packet_App_2
  41.              \
  42.               - MS_Netbeui ------ MS_WfWG
  43.
  44. But now what I'd like to have is NDIS through packet:
  45.
  46.                             - Packet_Drv_1 ---- Packet_App_1
  47.                            /    ...
  48.                           /
  49. Packet_Drv -- Packet_Mux ---- Packet_Drv_N ---- Packet_App_2
  50.                           \
  51.                \
  52.                             - NDIS_to_Packet -- MS_Netbeui -- MS_WfWG
  53. This for instance would allow me to configure my PC at home to use a SLIP/PPP
  54. packet driver (e.g. slip8250.com) to access my office. Therefor I search for a
  55. NDIS_to_Packet driver.
  56.
  57. Of cause hints/help to either
  58.
  59. 1.) configure WfWG to use packet drivers or
  60. 2.) get a SLIP/PPPdriver with NDIS interface
  61.
  62. would be appreciated as well.
  63.
  64. Thank you!
