- Does anybody have any inputs on the use of ISDN links within
- routed (IP, IPX etc.) networks?
-
- I am looking into this on behalf of a large organisation with some
- 60 or so campus's with big LANs, but only a few routers & bridges so far.
-
- Is it sensible to have a multiply connected network? (i.e. with bits
- dependent on an ISDN link for connectivity to other bits)?
-
- Can ISDN links be used for load balancing or to handle peak
- traffic only (say).
-
- Is it feasible for ISDN call set-up to be automatic (i.e triggered by
- some sequence of events in the router?
-
- Which end of the link should make the call?
-
- Must the ISDN destination number be fixed? or can the router be
- intelligent enough to dial a different number for different
- circumstances, or dependent on the destination IP address?
-
- We recognise that most routers on the market cannot do any of this yet,
- but is there any likelihood of them being able to? is it feasible?
-
- Any ideas would be welcome...
